and We’re Back!!

PIN

This time from a shiny new Kubernetes deployment.

Previously, the site was running on a Pi. It worked well, but I wanted to start dabbling in k8s while practicing deployment through GitOps. While I’ve been able to successfully deploy apps like a recipe manager and a bookmark manager through GitHub without touching the host machine, the WordPress pod has posed a bit of a challenge. We’re up and running, but I had to do some manual tweaking.

How goes school?

Last semester! Three courses left and we are done! It’s going to be busy though. The final three classes entail 2 group projects and a capstone project.

Internet Software Development
This is the capstone project. I’m not entirely sure what my project will be. I know it has to be completed with the MERN stack. I’m probably going to build a simple subscription manager. We’ve been wanting one here at the house, and I’d like to build in some reporting.

Computer System Security
Oh this is going to be a fun one. The group has decided to train an AI model to recognize LLM prompt injection attacks. There are multiple components. One component will be a chatbot that interacts with the LLM. The chatbot will pass the prompts into the model which will sit as middleware between the chatbot and the LLM. If the model detects a suspicious prompt, it will pass the appropriate details to a database which can be monitored by a dashboard. The team is still deciding on what roles people want to take, but I think I get to build and train the AI model!

Software Engineering (Project Course)
The group has decided to build a game. It’s a turn-based strategy “proof-of-concept” with a Western theme. I have no idea what I’m doing! I have some very basic art skills. I have no experience with the Godot language but here we go!!
